![]() ![]() I agree, this is kinda stupid, but on the other hand it wouldn't really be good for the game if you could just walk up to a tree and instantly get 10 apples. Random number generator whre trees have infinite but hard to find apples because REALISM Unless you have incredibly low stats zombies don't instakill. Guns don't spawn with ammo inside them, and you can just click "empty" on a gun when you find it, if nothing happends, then I guess it's empty, if you get bullets in your inventory then hooray, some player left behind a loaded gun.Ī zombie appears, smacks me in the face and kills me. With guns that have mags, the mags say how much ammo is left in them. Guns show up as having bullets, but with graphical animations and with a counter in the interface then a zombie appears, smacks me in the face and kills me cause the rifle was empty. Standalone has tons of potential but the mod is still the better experience, imo. Despite what people like to think, the Arma 2 DayZ mod community is definitely still around and there are lots of full servers everyday for all variations of the mod (vanilla, epoch, etc.). The reason I dislike the Standalone is that because it is still much a work-in-progress (Alpha obviously), there are still a lot of clunky gameplay mechanics, bugs and glitches. I like the mod because I constantly find players to interact with, can now base build in the vanilla version (the arma 2 mod still receives updates), loot is a lot more consistent in the mod, and the game is more focused on player interaction compared to the standalone, which is a lot more survival oriented, meaning you will be doing a lot more running across the map and maybe have an occasional interaction with another player. The mod is still the better experience imo, but I've never been a fan of the Standalone so my opinion is obviously biased.
